The National Ambulance Service ( NAS) has held a Dinner and Awards Night to climax the year-long celebration of the Service’s 20 years of dedicated Service to Ghana. The program which was on theme” Two decades of lifesaving journey: celebrating resilience in Ghana’s pre-hospital Emergency Care“ brought together current and past Directors, Board Members, staff of NAS and other partners.
Speaking at the Awards ceremony the Minister for Health, Dr Okoe Boye extended his heartfelt gratitude to NAS for their selfless Services and dedication to the health and well-being of Ghanaians. He applauded the Board Chairman, Nana Wiafe Ababio, the first Director, Dr Nana Enyimayew and current CEO, Prof Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah for their Instrumental leadership, vision and tireless work that have been instrumental in steering NAS towards excellence.
The Board Chairman of NAS, Nana Wiafe Ababio also urged the management and staff of the Service to look ahead with renewed commitment to improving the quality and reach of emergency health care in Ghana. He added that the road ahead will undoubtedly bring new challenges, but it will also present fresh opportunities for innovation, expansion and greater impact National Ambulance Service has transformed from just seven(7) pilot stations in 2004 to the current number of two hundred and ninety - seven (297) stations.
