NAS REFRESHES SOME AEMTs IN ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS)



National Ambulance Service has organized a four-day training program in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Instructor Training for 22 Advance Emergency Medical Technicians at the headquarters in the greater Accra. The training was to serve as a refresher course for the EMTs to gain in-depth knowledge in the management of Cardiac related cases.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of NAS, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah expressed gratitude to Prof. Aebrick O. Kelly, the Executive Dean Corom College Of Offshore Medicine Malta for sharing his experience and expertise with the National Ambulance Service.

Prof. Zakariah entreated all participants to take such trainings serious whenever the opportunity comes to enhance their skills and career as paramedics.''I entreat you all to really take advantage of this training to improve your skills and also impact the knowledge into other EMTs at the Station level''.

The EMTs were taking through the ABCDs of Emergency Cardiac Care, Rhythm Recognition and Management, Electrical Therapy, Airway Management among others. There were group discussions and an exam was conducted for the participants at the end of the training

Among some senior officers who were present at the training includes Dr. Ahmed N. Zakariah CEO of the service,Dr. Maxwell Osei – Ampofo, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Osei Kwame, Dr. Felicia Freeman, Dr. Henry Bulley, Paramedic Wonder K. Kponer with some facilitators like Mr. Solomon Akamah and Mr. Emmanuel Acheampong impacted their knowledge to the participants.
