The leadership of National Ambulance Service paid a courtesy call on the new Offinsohene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II at the Offinso Traditional Council, Ashanti Region, on Sunday, February 4, 2024. The delegation was led by the Board Chairman of the Service, Nana Wiafe Ababio, Chief Executive Officer, Professor Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah and other officials of the Service. The purpose of the visit was to introduce the leadership of the Service to the new Offinsohene and brief him on our activities.

The visit also offered an opportunity to have discussions on areas in which National Ambulance Service can collaborate with the Palace for mutual benefit. Speaking at the event, the Board Chairman of NAS, Nana Wiafe Ababio, said the Offinso traditional council should be thankful to Professor Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah for his dedication and commitment to the development of the National Ambulance Service and the Paramedic and Emergency Care training School(PECTS), which is situated at Nkenkaasu, in the Offinso North District

The Chief Executive Officer of NAS, Professor Nuhu Zakariah also added that the late Offinsohene played a major role when they wanted to use the area as their training school. He stated that the Paramedic and Emergency Care Training School is now the only Paramedic school in West Africa and there are plans to expand it into a university. The New Offinsohene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II stated that, he has heard a lot about the CEO, his hard work, commitment, selflessness, determination and innovative skills. He added that his doors are always open to the Service whenever his support is needed. Nana Dwamena Akenten II, from the Offinso Ahyirem Royal Family in the Ashanti Region, is the new Offinsohene after Nana Wiafe Akenkan III passed away in October ,2021
