EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN CREW INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT
A crew of three (3) Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) from the National Ambulance Service (NAS) in the Volta region has been involved in an accident.
The crew from Dzolokpuita Ambulance Station, who were transporting a patient to a private hospital in Koforidua, were involved in an accident near a town on the Koforidua road called Mile 47 in the late hours of the afternoon on Saturday, 22nd February 2025.
According to the leader of the crew, one of the front wheels of the vehicle broke off, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and somersault multiple times. Fortunately, the crew and patient sustained no major injuries, as two ambulances were dispatched to transport the crew to Akropong Hospital and the patient to the designated hospital, respectively.
All three staff members have been treated and discharged by Akropong Hospital.
