On Monday, 28th April 2025, Ashanti Regional NAS conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for staff of Pacific Loans and Savings Company in Kumasi.
Led by the Deputy Ashanti Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Martin Alalinga, the training brought together twenty-three (23) participants, including safety officers, branch managers, and security personnel from various branches.
The session covered:
• Basic Life Support (BLS): CPR and assisting an unconscious casualty
• Bleeding control techniques: Identifying types of bleeding and using direct pressure and improvised bandaging
• Choking management: Step-by-step techniques for relieving airway obstruction in adults and children
Participants engaged in both theoretical and practical sessions, gaining hands-on experience in recognizing emergencies and providing immediate care before the arrival of professional healthcare providers.
The training was interactive and practical, enhancing participants’ confidence and ability to respond effectively to emergency situations within the workplace and beyond.
Management of Pacific Loans and Savings Company expressed appreciation for the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to staff safety and development, with plans to extend similar training to other branches.
NAS commended the organization for prioritizing workplace safety and encouraged participants to apply the knowledge and skills gained to help save lives in their communities.
