Ashanti Regional NAS Trains St. Monica’s SHS Students in Life-Saving Skills
On Tuesday, 24th February 2026, the Baba Yara Stadium Ambulance Station welcomed students from the Red Cross Society of St. Monica’s Senior High School for an educational visit.
Led by Station Manager DCAEMT Janfaro Abdulai, the students learned about the National Ambulance Service (NAS) and its role in providing pre-hospital emergency care.
The session included:
• Basic Life Support (BLS): CPR and assisting an unconscious casualtties
• Bleeding control techniques: Using simple materials to manage injuries
• Sudden collapse & shock: Causes, warning signs, and first aid tips
• Asthma management: Recognizing attacks and assisting with inhalers
Students also toured the ambulance, exploring equipment like stretchers, oxygen devices, splints, spine boards, and monitors, learning their functions in patient care.
The visit was interactive, educational, and practical, equipping students with skills to save lives in their communities. NAS commended the school for this initiative and encouraged students to put their knowledge into action.
