Day One Successfully Executed: NAS OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY TRAINING PROGRAMME – 2025

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has successfully completed Day One of its Management & Regional Managers Training Programme – 2025, held as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership capacity, improve governance, and enhance the delivery of pre-hospital emergency care across the country.

The programme brought together Management and Regional leadership from all regions to engage in strategic discussions focused on organizational effectiveness, accountability, and service excellence. Day One set a strong foundation for critical reflection, knowledge sharing, and forward-looking leadership engagement.

Key thematic areas addressed during the day included The Need for Mindset Revolution in Corporate Organizations, which challenged participants to embrace transformational thinking and adaptive leadership within a dynamic emergency care environment. Sessions on Good Customer Care: Meeting the Expectations of the Public reinforced the importance of professionalism, empathy, and public trust in emergency service delivery.

Participants also undertook a comprehensive review of institutional performance through Assessing the Year’s Outcome and Strategic Outlook for the Coming Year, providing an opportunity to evaluate progress, identify gaps, and align priorities for the year ahead. Discussions on Enhancing Stakeholder Partnership and Communication for Better Patient Care highlighted collaboration and effective communication as essential drivers of improved patient outcomes.

Further sessions focused on strengthening internal systems and accountability, including Financial Management for Non-Financial Managers and Strengthening Internal Control SystemsThe Procurement Process in the Public Sector, and The Role of Effective Documentation in Strengthening Pre-hospital Care. These engagements emphasized compliance, transparency, and the critical role of documentation in supporting quality emergency medical services.

Day One was marked by active participation, practical insights, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement across all levels of the Service. The programme continues with Day Two, as NAS advances its mission to build a resilient, efficient, and people-centered emergency medical service for the nation.
