The National Ambulance Service (NAS) proudly celebrates the participation of four distinguished female members of its management team at the 2nd Conference for Women in Leadership in the Public Sector, organised by the Public Services Commission.
The conference brought together accomplished women leaders from across public institutions, where NAS was ably represented by its Deputy Directors- Ms. Elizabeth D. Tetteh (Administration), Mrs. Fati M. Salifu (Training and Development), Mrs. Helen Gasu (Welfare), and Mrs. Ama Frimpong (HR Planning and Recruitment). Their presence highlighted the Service’s strong commitment to promoting capable and impactful female leadership within emergency healthcare delivery.
The event was graced by the Special Guest of Honour, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who underscored the critical role women continue to play in governance, institutional development, and national progress. Her remarks reinforced the need to create inclusive leadership spaces that empower women to contribute meaningfully to decision-making at all levels.
Also in attendance were senior public sector figures including the leadership of the Commission, the Minister of Gender, and heads of key security agencies- notably the Ghana National Fire Service and the Ghana Prisons Service- both led by accomplished women, further reflecting the growing impact of female leadership across Ghana’s public sector.
Participants benefited from insightful presentations such as “Implementing the Affirmative Action Bill: Success Stories and Lessons Learned” and “The Career You Passionately Pursue, The Life You Love to Lead: Aligning Work, Family and Self.” A panel discussion moderated by Mrs. Bernice Sam Esq. also explored women leaders’ experiences, challenges, and pathways to success within Ghana’s public service.
For the NAS delegation, the conference provided a valuable platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and learning best leadership practices that will further strengthen institutional growth and service delivery.
The National Ambulance Service remains proud of its women leaders and reaffirms its commitment to nurturing inclusive leadership that advances both the Service and the nation.
