As part of activities marking World Emergency Medicine Week 2026, the Ho Central Ambulance Station, led by PAEMT Henry Horlali Mawugbe, in collaboration with the Accident and Emergency Unit of Ho Municipal Hospital, conducted a simulation exercise on 27th May 2026 in Ho.
The exercise simulated a mass casualty incident involving ten victims who were suspected to have suffered food poisoning at a social event. Emergency response teams swiftly assessed, treated, and stabilized the casualties at the scene before transporting them to the Ho Municipal Hospital Emergency Unit for further medical care.
The exercise forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, enhance emergency preparedness, and improve coordinated response to medical emergencies. It also provided an opportunity for personnel from both institutions to test and refine their response protocols in a controlled environment.
Through such initiatives, the National Ambulance Service and Ho Municipal Hospital continue to reinforce their shared commitment to delivering timely, efficient, and quality emergency care to the public.
