The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu joined distinguished healthcare leaders, policymakers, development partners, and stakeholders at the 2026 Annual Health Summit held at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra yesterday, reaffirming the Service's commitment to advancing healthcare delivery and emergency medical services in Ghana.
The summit, which brought together key actors within the health sector, including the Hon. Minister for health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, served as an important platform for discussions on strengthening healthcare systems, improving patient outcomes, embracing innovation, and enhancing collaboration among health institutions to address emerging healthcare challenges.
The participation of the NAS CEO underscored the critical role of pre-hospital emergency care in the country's healthcare ecosystem and highlighted the Service's ongoing efforts to provide timely, efficient, and life-saving emergency medical interventions across the nation.
In addition to participating in the summit, the National Ambulance Service deployed a dedicated team of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and emergency response resources to provide comprehensive medical cover throughout the event. The team remained on standby to respond promptly to any medical emergencies and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
The medical cover formed part of the Service's mandate to support major national events and gatherings by providing professional pre-hospital emergency care services and rapid response capabilities.
The National Ambulance Service is always committed to supporting national health initiatives, strengthening partnerships within the healthcare sector, and ensuring that quality emergency medical care remains accessible to all Ghanaians.
