As part of his ongoing operational tour of the Northern Region, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, paid a working visit to the Savelugu Municipal Assembly to strengthen collaboration and discuss support for emergency medical service delivery in the municipality.
The NAS delegation met with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Alhassan Fuseini, at the Assembly’s office. The MCE warmly welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting emergency medical services within the municipality despite the Assembly’s current funding challenges.
During the engagement, the MCE also raised concerns regarding communication and emergency response coordination, stressing the need for improved public engagement and operational feedback between the National Ambulance Service and the Assembly.
Dr. Owusu expressed appreciation for the warm reception and appealed to the Assembly to support the renovation and improvement of office accommodation for the Savelugu Ambulance Station.
In response, Hon. Alhassan Fuseini assured Management of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting the Service and indicated that despite financial constraints, efforts would be made to secure suitable office accommodation for the station.
The NAS CEO later visited the Savelugu Ambulance Station, where he engaged with the Station Manager and staff. He commended personnel for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to delivering timely emergency medical services to the community.
