The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, has visited the yet-to-be commissioned new Achimota Ambulance Station, an edifice constructed by the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly.
The CEO expressed profound appreciation to the Assembly for what he described as a significant investment in emergency healthcare delivery. He commended the leadership of the Assembly for the noble gesture, noting that the new facility represents a strong demonstration of commitment to public safety and pre-hospital emergency care.
Dr. Owusu indicated that the new station will significantly improve the working conditions of staff and enhance operational efficiency within the area. He acknowledged the challenges confronting the Service but encouraged personnel to remain steadfast and professional in the discharge of their duties.
The CEO further commended the staff strength at the station and urged them to continue giving off their best output, emphasizing that management is committed to creating more opportunities for personnel across the Service. He encouraged staff to position themselves strategically to take advantage of these opportunities as they arise.
He assured the team of his continuous support and stressed the importance of maintaining the Service’s assets to ensure longevity and sustained service delivery.
Dr. Owusu also revealed that Management will liaise with other Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to replicate the commendable initiative undertaken by the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly.
The new Achimota Ambulance Station is scheduled to be officially commissioned on 13th March 2026.
