The Acting Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. Patrick Inkoom-Colbelson, has successfully completed a two-day working visit to selected ambulance stations in the Volta Region from 12th to 13th March 2026.
The visit covered six ambulance stations, namely: Juapong, Peki, Have, Kpando, Hohoe, and North Dayi, and formed part of ongoing efforts by Management to strengthen emergency medical service delivery across the country. During the exercise, the Acting Deputy CEO and his team engaged directly with Officers-in-Charge and staff, receiving warm welcomes at every station visited.
The primary focus of the visit was to assess operational readiness, inspect ambulances and equipment, interact with personnel, and gain first-hand insight into the operations of the stations. Despite the unannounced nature of the visit, it proved highly impactful, offering Management a clearer understanding of field realities.
Observations from the tour indicated that personnel across the stations continue to demonstrate a strong sense of dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, working diligently to ensure ambulance services remain available to the public.
The visit also highlighted the operational status of ambulances at various stations, with some requiring attention to enhance their readiness and improve response capability within their respective catchment areas.
Management remains committed to strengthening service delivery and ensuring that all ambulance stations are well-positioned to provide timely and efficient emergency medical care.
