The Ejisu Ambulance Station of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Ashanti Region, has equipped staff of the CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana (CSIR-FORIG) at Fumesua with essential lifesaving skills in Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and bleeding control.
The training, held on Thursday, 1 October 2026, combined interactive theoretical sessions with practical demonstrations, enabling participants to develop the confidence and basic skills needed to respond appropriately to emergencies while awaiting professional medical assistance.
The training team, led by AEMT Sarpong Emmanuel Kwadwo, guided participants through key emergency response techniques and emphasised the importance of taking immediate and appropriate action during critical situations.
Speaking on behalf of CSIR-FORIG, Chief Research Scientist, Mr. Bill Bandor, expressed appreciation to the NAS team for the training, describing the session as useful and impactful. He further indicated that arrangements would be made for the Ejisu Ambulance Station to return and extend similar training to students of the CSIR Basic School.
The engagement forms part of NAS’ commitment to building a more emergency-ready society by equipping individuals, institutions and communities with basic lifesaving skills that can help preserve life before professional medical help arrives.
