The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has hosted a delegation from Linbert Consultancy Ltd as part of efforts to explore innovative solutions aimed at strengthening pre-hospital emergency care and improving patient outcomes.
The delegation, led by Mr. Joseph Owiredu Amoako, paid a courtesy call on Management of the Service to formally present a proposal for the pilot supply of Celox Hemostatic Products and the training of NAS personnel in their application.
During the engagement, the team introduced Celox as an advanced hemorrhage control technology designed to rapidly stop severe bleeding, particularly in trauma and emergency situations. According to the proposal, the products are intended to support emergency responders in managing life-threatening bleeding cases and enhancing survival outcomes before patients reach definitive care facilities.
As part of the proposed pilot programme, Linbert Consultancy Ltd outlined plans to provide selected Celox Hemostatic Gauze and Celox Hemostatic Applicators to the Service for field assessment. The pilot is expected to enable NAS to evaluate the products’ effectiveness, ease of use and potential contribution to pre-hospital emergency care delivery.
The delegation also trained NAS personnel. The training focused on indications and contraindications for use, wound-packing techniques, product application procedures and the integration of hemorrhage control interventions into existing emergency response protocols.
Management of the National Ambulance Service welcomed the engagement and reiterated the Service’s commitment to continuously exploring innovations and partnerships that enhance operational efficiency, strengthen emergency medical response and improve patient care outcomes across the country.
The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to identify practical interventions and technologies that support the Service’s mandate of saving lives through timely and effective pre-hospital emergency care.
