The Chief Executive Officer and Management of the National Ambulance Service have commended the dedicated team at the Service’s Korle-Bu Workshop for their relentless efforts in maintaining and restoring ambulances critical to emergency response operations across the country.
The commendation came during a working visit by Management to the workshop yesterday as part of ongoing efforts to assess operational challenges, engage staff, and identify solutions to strengthen fleet restoration and boost pre-hospital emergency care delivery.
During the visit, Management acknowledged the intense workload shouldered by the workshop team, noting that the aging ambulance fleet has led to frequent vehicle breakdowns and increased pressure on personnel who work tirelessly around the clock to keep ambulances roadworthy.
It was further observed that the workshop continues to experience a high turnover of vehicles, with ambulances constantly entering for repairs while others exit after maintenance—highlighting the critical role of the workshop in sustaining nationwide emergency medical operations.
Reaffirming its commitment to supporting the team, Management assured staff of enhanced interventions and the necessary resources to improve workshop operations and accelerate fleet restoration efforts.
