NAS Moves to Establish Ambulance Station at Takoradi Airport

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has begun processes to establish a dedicated ambulance station at the Takoradi Airport as part of a nationwide strategy to strengthen emergency medical response and reduce response times in high-risk and high-traffic locations.

As part of this initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of NAS, Dr. George Kojo Owusu, accompanied by key Management members and Western Regional leadership, held strategic discussions with the Takoradi Airport Base Commander and his team to explore the feasibility of setting up a fully operational NAS station at the airport.

Focus on 24-Hour Emergency Coverage

The meeting examined critical requirements, including the provision of suitable office and operational space to support a 24-hour ambulance presence at the airport. This aligns with Government’s 24-hour economy agenda and NAS’s mission to ensure uninterrupted emergency medical coverage across all strategic national facilities.
