The National Ambulance Service (NAS), Greater Accra Region, showcased its emergency response capabilities and life-saving skills at the 2026 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) exhibition held at the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD), Accra International Airport.
Led by Greater Accra Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Daniel Asare, the NAS team demonstrated ambulance equipment, emergency medical and trauma supplies, and training manikins while educating participants on the Service’s mandate, first aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), and its critical role in disaster response.
Organised by NADMO in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), UNHRD, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the Mastercard Foundation, the event brought together emergency response institutions, development partners, traditional leaders, students, and members of the public to promote disaster preparedness and community resilience.
Through its participation, NAS reinforced the importance of public education, early intervention, and appropriate action during emergencies.
A disaster-resilient Ghana begins with a prepared public. Every life matters, and knowing what to do in an emergency can make all the difference.
