The National Ambulance Service (NAS) participated in the 15th Medical Knowledge Fiesta 2026, held at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons, where it delivered a practical Basic Life Support (BLS) training session aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness among future healthcare professionals.
The event was held under the theme, “Strengthening Emergency Preparedness in Ghana: The Role of the State, Health Workers and Training Institutions.”
Led by Paramedic Najeeb Mohammed and Paramedic Christina Achena, NAS facilitators guided participants through essential life-saving interventions, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), with practical demonstrations and hands-on training sessions.
The interactive engagement formed part of the Medical Students’ Session and provided participants with the opportunity to develop critical emergency response skills that could help save lives in real-life situations.
NAS remains committed to building a culture of emergency preparedness by equipping healthcare trainees and the public with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies.
The Medical Knowledge Fiesta is an annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme organised by the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons (GCPS) in collaboration with the Ghana Physicians and Surgeons Foundation (GPSF).
