NATIONAL AMBULANCE SERVICE PROVIDES MEDICAL COVER AT 2026 STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS
The National Ambulance Service (NAS) deployed personnel to provide comprehensive medical coverage during the 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) held at Parliament House in Accra, ensuring the safety and well-being of dignitaries, Members of Parliament, and invited guests.
The team was strategically positioned within and around the parliamentary precinct to enable swift response to any health emergencies before, during, and after the President’s address. Fully equipped ambulances and advanced life-support equipment were placed on standby as part of standard safety protocols for high-profile national events.
The constitutionally mandated address brought together key government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, security agencies, and other stakeholders. NAS’s presence formed part of a coordinated national security and emergency preparedness arrangement aimed at ensuring a smooth and incident-free programme.
The deployment reflects the Service’s continued commitment to delivering timely, professional pre-hospital emergency care at major state functions and public gatherings across the country.
The event concluded successfully without any major medical incidents, highlighting the importance of preparedness and strong inter-agency collaboration in safeguarding national events.
