The Western North Regional Administration of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) has demonstrated its commitment to staff welfare by paying a visit to three personnel who sustained injuries in a road traffic accident while performing their official duties.
The welfare visit was led by the Acting Western North Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT James Hackman, together with members of the regional management team. The affected officers were involved in the accident on 28 July 2026 after being dispatched by the Regional Emergency Medical Dispatch Centre to transfer a referred patient from the Enchi Government Hospital to the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Takoradi while providing pre-hospital emergency care.
During the visit, DCAEMT James Hackman thanked God for preserving the lives of the officers and conveyed the Service’s concern and support for their well-being. He acknowledged the physical and emotional impact of the incident and assured the personnel that the National Ambulance Service remains committed to supporting them throughout their recovery.
He further assured the injured officers that all medical expenses and other accident-related costs would be fully covered by the Service. In addition, he noted that all welfare benefits due them under the Service’s provisions would be made available to ensure their continued care and support.
The visit forms part of the National Ambulance Service’s broader commitment to prioritising the welfare of its personnel, who daily put their lives on the line to deliver lifesaving emergency medical care to the people of Ghana.
