NEW AMBULANCE STATION COMING TO FLOWER POT- SPINTEX, ACCRA

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) and the Department of Urban Roads (Ministry of Roads and Highways) are working together to bring improved emergency medical care to one of Accra’s busiest traffic corridors.
On Friday, September 12, 2025, a joint team inspected the site of a state-of-the-art ambulance station under construction at Flower Pot, near the Palace Mall Underbridge.
The NAS delegation was led by Acting Deputy CEO Dr. Patrick Inkoom-Colbelson, with Acting Director of Operations Dr. Ali Baba Awini and Greater Accra Regional Administrator PAEMT Daniel Asare. They were hosted by Director James O. Amoo-Gottfried of the Department of Urban Roads, supported by Senior Environmentalist Ruth Karikari-Boakye Yiadom, who guided the tour and project review.
Key highlights of the new station:
   - Quick access to major roads for faster emergency response
   - Enough space for ambulances, medical staff, and essential equipment
   - A highly visible location for better safety and community trust
This ambulance station will reduce response times along the Accra–Tema Motorway and Spintex Road, ensuring that more lives are saved when emergencies strike. It is a strong example of what can be achieved when public agencies collaborate to protect lives.
At NAS, we remain committed to our mission: “Timely Care Saves Lives.” ️
