The Upper East Regional Office of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) has trained 50 officers of the Ghana Police Service in Basic Life Support (BLS) at the Upper East Regional Police Headquarters in Bolgatanga.
The training forms part of NAS’s ongoing efforts to promote emergency preparedness and strengthen life-saving capacity among sister emergency services. Led by the Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Azudaa R. Atandigre, the session equipped participants with essential skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies in the line of duty.
Officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), Visibility Policing, and the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID) received both theoretical and practical lessons in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control, lifting and movement, and airway management.
This initiative highlights the National Ambulance Service’s commitment to fostering a culture of emergency readiness and strengthening collaboration with key security and public service institutions to enhance emergency response and save lives.
