National Ambulance Service is set to collaborate with Global Life Savers Inc. on a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing emergency response and public health capacity in Ghana.
This follows a productive meeting held at the National Ambulance Service Headquarters yesterday, where representatives from Global Life Savers Inc. engaged officials of NAS to finalize discussions and align on key aspects of the partnership. The delegation was led by Dr. Selina Okyere, Founder and President of Global Life Savers Inc.
The collaboration will focus on the implementation of the Police Emergency Response & Public Health Capacity-Building Project – Ghana, an initiative designed to equip first responders with critical lifesaving skills.
The first phase of the program will take place as follows:
• Venue: Formed Police Unit (FPU) Fitness Center, Tesano Police Training Center
• Date: Monday, 13th April, 2026
• Time: 9:00 AM
This intensive training will focus on CPR and emergency response techniques, targeting police officers who are often the first at the scene of emergencies. Participants will be equipped to effectively manage cases such as cardiac arrest, road traffic accidents, drowning incidents, and other medical emergencies before the arrival of advanced care.
The initiative forms part of a broader vision to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, improve pre-hospital emergency care, and build a more resilient and responsive national emergency system.
Global Life Savers Inc., a United Nations ECOSOC-affiliated NGO, brings extensive experience in emergency response training and public safety education. Their collaboration with GAS is expected to significantly enhance coordination among first responders while boosting public confidence in Ghana’s emergency response systems.
This partnership also opens avenues for resource support, including CPR training equipment, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), first aid kits, and certification for trainees.
NAS remains committed to working with key stakeholders to improve emergency preparedness and ultimately save more lives across the country.
