As part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and staff welfare across the country, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. George Kojo Owusu, has paid a working visit to the Volta Region.
The visit covered key facilities including the Regional Ambulance Office, Ho Central Ambulance Station, Ho Ambulance Workshop, Volta Regional Emergency Dispatch Center (EDC), and the newly allocated building from the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) earmarked for renovation into a modern Regional Office and Emergency Dispatch Center.
During his interactions with staff, Dr. Owusu commended personnel for their passion, hard work, and dedication, noting that their commitment continues to sustain the Service’s reputation for excellence in emergency response.
He assured staff of Headquarters’ full support to address operational and welfare needs, announcing that:
• The newly allocated building will soon be renovated to serve as the Regional Office and EDC
• Air conditioning will be provided for the current EDC
• PPE and essential spare parts will be supplied to the Ho Workshop
• Budget submissions from all 21 stations will be prioritized in the upcoming cycle
• Community Medical First Responders (CMFRs) will soon be deployed to strengthen prehospital emergency care in the region
Dr. Owusu also encouraged personnel to take advantage of in-service training opportunities and intensify public awareness campaigns to deepen collaboration with communities in saving lives.
Staff of the Volta Region expressed heartfelt appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed their commitment to the NAS mission of delivering timely, professional, and compassionate prehospital emergency care.
