The Upper East National Ambulance Service (NAS) emerged as both a strategic technical contributor and a trusted guardian of public safety at the 2026 PEARL (Prosperity Through Enterprise, Agriculture Resilience and Livelihoods) Framework Summit- a 10-year strategy Development plan.
Held over three days at the Desert Pastures Auditorium in Bolgatanga, the event brought together an influential assembly of stakeholders committed to defining a ten-year roadmap for the region's socio-economic transformation. Among those in attendance were representatives of the President, Members of Parliament, political party representatives, chiefs and traditional rulers, health professionals, security agencies, academics, development partners, and local and international investors.
The National Ambulance Service made its presence felt in two distinct but equally significant ways.
Representing the Service at the policy level, the Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Azudaa R. Atandigre, was nominated to serve on the summit's thematic committee on Peace, Security and Community Development. Drawing on his experience in emergency medical services and public safety, he contributed to discussions on strengthening community resilience, enhancing security, and supporting sustainable regional development.
His nomination reflects the increasing recognition of the National Ambulance Service as an institution whose expertise reaches beyond emergency response and into broader conversations on governance, resilience, and community wellbeing.
While strategic discussions unfolded inside the auditorium, another team worked quietly behind the scenes to ensure the summit proceeded safely.
Personnel from the Bolgatanga Central Ambulance Station maintained continuous medical standby throughout the three-day programme, remaining on duty from the opening session to the closing ceremony. Their constant readiness provided delegates with the reassurance that emergency medical care was immediately available should the need arise.
The Service's participation in PEARL 2026 highlights an evolving reality. Increasingly, the National Ambulance Service is not only responding to medical emergencies but also contributing to the broader systems that strengthen communities and support national development. Whether through safeguarding major public events or helping shape conversations on peace, security, and regional planning, the Service continues to affirm its commitment to building healthier, safer, and more resilient communities across the Upper East Region.
