The National Ambulance Service (NAS) in the Ashanti Region has held a Leaders Meeting aimed at strengthening operations, enhancing emergency response performance, and improving service delivery across the Region.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, brought together leaders and representatives from ambulance stations across the Region to review operational challenges, discuss human resource matters, and explore practical strategies for improving emergency medical services.
The Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Sommik Duut Miilon, welcomed participants and outlined the objectives of the meeting, while discussions on emergency response performance were led by the Regional Clinical Auditor, DCAEMT Janfaro Abdulai. Human resource matters were addressed by the Regional Human Resource Officer, SAEMT Stephanie Delali Babanawo, with contributions from the Deputy Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Martin Alalinga.
Participants also examined issues relating to Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and community outreach, recognizing both as critical tools for enhancing staff capacity and strengthening public engagement.
A major highlight of the meeting was a presentation on the use of Celox haemostatic agents in managing severe bleeding during emergencies. Delivered by SAEMT Mansurat Abdul Ganiyu on behalf of the attending team, the presentation underscored the importance of advanced bleeding control interventions in prehospital emergency care.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session that allowed participants to share experiences, raise concerns, and contribute ideas for improving operations within their respective stations.
The engagement provided a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective reflection as the Ashanti Regional Administration continues to work towards strengthening emergency response systems and delivering timely, quality prehospital care to the people of the Region.
