Bono East Regional Minister Reaffirms Support for NAS; CEO Calls for Stronger Collaboration

The Bono East Regional Minister, Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi, has reaffirmed the Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to supporting the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to strengthen emergency medical services and improve access to timely care across the region. The Minister gave the assurance when the Chief Executive Officer of NAS, Dr. (Med.) George Kojo Owusu, paid a courtesy call on him at the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) on Thursday, August 27, 2026, as part of his working visit to the region. The engagement provided an opportunity for the NAS Chief Executive to strengthen collaboration between the Service and the RCC while expressing appreciation to the Regional Minister for his continued support and interest in the operations of NAS in the region. Dr. Owusu acknowledged the important role of the RCC in supporting emergency medical services and commended the Minister for his commitment to improving emergency response in Bono East. In response, Mr. Francis Owusu Antwi assured the NAS Management of the RCC’s continued partnership, stressing the importance of close collaboration in ensuring that residents across the region have access to effective and timely emergency medical care. The Regional Minister also used the occasion to commend the Bono East Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Michael K. Badu, for his dedication and commitment to the Service. He particularly praised the Regional Manager for his regular communication on the condition and availability of ambulances across the region, noting that timely updates enable stakeholders to better understand operational challenges and respond appropriately to the needs of the Service. The engagement concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation and supporting initiatives that will strengthen emergency response and improve patient outcomes across the Bono East Region. The visit underscores NAS’s continued engagement with regional stakeholders as the Service works to build stronger partnerships and address operational challenges.
