The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has reaffirmed its readiness to support national emergency preparedness efforts following a strategic engagement with a delegation from the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) ahead of the upcoming Full-Scale Emergency Simulation Exercise (Aviation Security) scheduled for 15 October 2026. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to align plans, review operational expectations, and discuss the critical life-saving role NAS will play during the exercise. The simulation is designed to test emergency response systems under realistic conditions, ensuring that key stakeholders remain prepared to respond effectively to any aviation-related emergency. The exercise will assess existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), emergency response frameworks, and planning assumptions, while identifying potential resource gaps, logistical challenges, and communication bottlenecks that could affect real-life emergency operations. It will also serve as an important platform to strengthen inter-agency coordination, enhance operational synergy, and build trust among participating institutions. The NAS Management Team assured the GACL delegation of the Service’s unwavering commitment to the exercise, emphasizing that NAS remains fully prepared, adequately equipped, and ever ready to collaborate with partners to ensure a successful outcome. The Full-Scale Emergency Simulation Exercise will bring together several key national and international stakeholders, including the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIB), the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and the Interior, Defence Intelligence, the Board of Airline Representatives, emergency service agencies, aviation security operators, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana National Fire Service, and other strategic partners. As Ghana continues to strengthen its emergency preparedness architecture, NAS remains committed to its mandate of delivering timely, coordinated, and life-saving prehospital emergency care whenever and wherever it is needed.
