The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) has donated five brand-new HP desktop computers to the Upper East Regional Administration of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) to enhance administrative efficiency and strengthen emergency healthcare operations across the region.
The donation, made on Monday, 7 September 2026, underscores GIFEC’s commitment to promoting digital inclusion and supporting public institutions with the technological resources needed to improve service delivery.
The timely intervention comes as the Upper East Regional Administrative Manager of the National Ambulance Service, DCAEMT. Azudaa R. Atandigre, pursues efforts to ensure that all 17 ambulance stations within the region are equipped with computers to support data management and operational reporting. As a data-driven emergency response institution, NAS relies heavily on the collection, processing and analysis of operational information to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
The five computers will be distributed to selected ambulance stations within the region to support administrative functions, data management and other operational activities.
Presenting the computers, the Upper East Regional Manager of GIFEC, Mr. Martin Aberba, explained that the donation forms part of GIFEC’s broader initiative to provide ICT resources to institutions that lack adequate technological infrastructure.
He noted that equipping public institutions with digital tools contributes significantly to improving efficiency, productivity and service delivery.
Receiving the items on behalf of the National Ambulance Service, DCAEMT. Azudaa R. Atandigre expressed sincere gratitude to GIFEC for the generous support.
He indicated that the computers would enhance the Service’s ability to process and manage operational data effectively, ultimately contributing to improved emergency healthcare delivery across the region.
According to him, the equipment will also support the development of EMTs’ competencies in essential ICT applications, further strengthening the Service’s capacity to provide efficient and responsive prehospital emergency care.
The donation reflects the importance of strategic partnerships in advancing healthcare delivery and strengthening emergency response systems through technology and innovation.
