The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, has commended staff of the Kumasi Central Workshop for their dedication despite a doubled workload caused by aging ambulances. The Kumasi workshop serves Ashanti, Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, and Western North regions. Speaking during a working visit today, Dr. Owusu said the Service will engage National Service engineering graduates to augment staff and will assign administrative officers to assist with stores management. He also announced plans to install CCTV and improve lighting to secure the facility, and directed management to begin formal disposal of obsolete spare parts to decongest the workshop. He conveyed assurance from the Ministry of Health to support the restoration of broken-down ambulances to improve emergency response. Staff, through their head, thanked the CEO for providing modern workshop equipment, uniforms, and continuous training.
