The National Ambulance Service (NAS) participated in the annual Safety Celebration Week organised by GHACEM, one of Ghana’s leading cement manufacturers, at Tema.
The event aimed to promote safety awareness, prevent accidents, and strengthen a lasting culture of safety in workplaces and communities. It also served as a reminder that safety is a shared responsibility and a continuous commitment.
As part of the programme, the NAS team, led by Paramedic Najeeb Mohammed, took participants through practical sessions on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), bleeding control, and other essential Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques. Participants were also educated on the roles and functions of the National Ambulance Service within Ghana’s emergency healthcare delivery system.
Other key institutions, including the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), participated in the event, sharing valuable insights on safety practices and measures to promote safer working and living environments.
The engagement provided an opportunity for NAS to reinforce the importance of emergency preparedness and equip participants with lifesaving skills that can make a critical difference during emergencies.
