The National Ambulance Service (NAS) today joined the nationwide observance of National Sanitation Day, with staff at the Service’s Headquarters in Accra participating in a clean-up exercise aimed at promoting environmental cleanliness and public health.
The exercise brought together management and staff, who set aside their routine administrative and emergency response duties to undertake various sanitation activities, including weeding overgrown areas, desilting gutters, sweeping, and clearing refuse from the Headquarters premises.
The initiative forms part of the Service’s commitment to supporting national efforts to maintain clean and healthy communities while reinforcing the important link between sanitation and public health.
As an institution at the forefront of emergency medical response, NAS recognizes that preventing disease through proper sanitation is just as important as responding to emergencies. A clean environment helps reduce the spread of infections, minimizes health risks, and contributes to the overall well-being of the population.
NAS remains committed to promoting healthy living and supporting initiatives that contribute to a safer and healthier Ghana.
