Management of the National Ambulance Service (NAS) has met with regional managers of the Service in the Greater Accra Region to review emergency response and flood preparedness measures.
The meeting, which took place in the NAS Headquarters Conference Room, brought together the top management of the Service, the Regional Administrator, and forty-three (43) Station Managers across the region.
Addressing the staff, the Chief Executive Officer of the Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, said that despite the strain on resources, NAS’s commitment to the public remains absolute, and the Service will continue to provide 24-hour service and respond to emergencies.
Dr. Owusu added that, in light of the recent floods and the unpredictable challenges NAS will continue to confront, it is vital to understand the Service’s position and preparedness.
In the wake of the devastating floods that swept through the Greater Accra Region on June 29, 2026, prominent political figures have begun rallying behind affected residents, and the incident has intensified national conversations surrounding Accra’s perennial drainage challenges.
In an effort to continuously enhance emergency preparedness and bolster pre-hospital medical response within the region, Dr. Owusu made an official presentation of critical medical equipment and supplies to various ambulance stations across the Greater Accra Region.
The items distributed were carefully selected to address daily frontline emergency needs, optimize patient stabilization during transit, and ensure strict adherence to clinical and hygienic safety precautions.
