The National Ambulance Service (NAS), commends the Talensi District Assembly and the Member of Parliament for Talensi for their valuable support towards strengthening emergency medical service delivery and enhancing the operational capacity of the Service in the district.
As part of efforts to improve ambulance readiness and ensure uninterrupted emergency response, the District Chief Executive for Talensi, Hon. John Millim Nabwonye, provided an engine for the district ambulance. The intervention is expected to significantly enhance the operational availability of the ambulance, enabling NAS personnel to respond more effectively to emergencies within Talensi and neighbouring communities.
In a further demonstration of commitment to quality healthcare delivery, the Member of Parliament for Talensi, Hon. Daniel Mahama Dung, supported the drilling and mechanisation of a borehole for the NAS Talensi District Ambulance Station. The provision of a reliable water source will improve staff welfare and contribute to the smooth day-to-day operations of the station.
Speaking during a brief handing-over ceremony, the Upper East Regional Manager of NAS, DCAEMT Azudaa R. Atandigre, expressed the Service’s profound appreciation to both the DCE and the MP for their timely interventions. He noted that such support plays a critical role in strengthening prehospital emergency care and ensuring that ambulance services remain responsive to the needs of the public.
The National Ambulance Service also acknowledges the support of the Nabdam District Assembly, which recently facilitated the drilling and mechanisation of a borehole for the NAS Nabdam District Ambulance Station, further demonstrating the growing commitment of local authorities to improving emergency healthcare infrastructure.
NAS believes that strengthening emergency medical services requires collective action. The continued collaboration among District Assemblies, Members of Parliament, traditional authorities, development partners and the National Ambulance Service remains essential to delivering timely care and saving lives across communities.
