On Saturday, 2nd May 2026, the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Ashanti Region, conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session for members of the Royal Rangers at the Assemblies of God Church, Ghana.
The training was led by the Ashanti Regional Deputy Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Martin Alalinga and brought together thirty-five (35) participants.
The session covered:
• Basic Life Support (BLS): CPR and assisting an unconscious casualty
• Bleeding control techniques: Managing injuries using direct pressure and improvised bandaging
• Choking management: Techniques for relieving airway obstruction
Participants were taken through both theoretical and practical sessions, equipping them with hands-on skills to recognize emergencies and provide immediate care before the arrival of professional responders.
The training was interactive and impactful, improving participants’ confidence and readiness to respond to emergencies within their church and communities.
NAS commends the Royal Rangers and the Assemblies of God Church for the initiative and encourages participants to apply the knowledge gained to help save lives.
