The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, has engaged personnel at the KPASSA and Nkwanta South Ambulance Stations as part of ongoing efforts to assess operations, motivate frontline staff, and strengthen emergency medical service delivery. During the visit to KPASSA, the CEO commended personnel for their work despite limited staffing and the operational challenges they encounter in the line of duty. He acknowledged their dedication and reaffirmed management’s commitment to supporting the station to improve service delivery. Dr. Owusu outlined key support measures, including efforts towards the restoration of the station’s ambulance, the provision of an air conditioner to improve the working environment, and recruitment to strengthen staffing. He also highlighted the importance of refresher training for Community Medical First Responders (CMFRs) to enhance community-level emergency response. At the Nkwanta South Ambulance Station, the CEO commended personnel for the good maintenance of their ambulance, emphasising the importance of proper vehicle care in ensuring operational readiness and prolonging the lifespan of the fleet. He further highlighted recruitment, the creation of additional ambulance stations, and opportunities for Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to pursue degree programmes as important measures towards strengthening the Service’s human resource capacity and professional development. The CEO also encouraged personnel to maintain proper dressing and uphold the professional standards expected of members of the National Ambulance Service. Also present with the team was the Municipal Coordinating Director for the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly, Mr. Musah Mahama Sensau. Through continued engagement with personnel and targeted operational support, NAS remains focused on strengthening emergency response systems and ensuring that communities receive the emergency care they need.
