The National Ambulance Service (NAS) has reinforced its commitment to safeguarding lives and supporting Ghana’s international engagements through the provision of emergency medical services at the Africa School on Internet Governance (AfriSIG) 2026 and the 15th Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) 2026, held in Accra from 28 October to 5 November 2026.
The high-level gathering was officially opened on 3 November 2026 at the Labadi Beach Hotel by Her Excellency Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, alongside the Honourable Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.
As part of the medical arrangements, NAS deployed a team to provide emergency medical cover at the Residence of the British High Commission during a welcome reception hosted for distinguished dignitaries attending the conference.
Beyond on-site medical support, the Service also coordinated with designated referral facilities, including the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge), LEKMA Hospital and The Bank Hospital, to ensure access to timely emergency medical care whenever required.
The successful execution of the assignment was guided by the strategic leadership and direction of the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, with execution led by DCAEMT Daniel Asare, Greater Accra Regional Administrative Manager.
Through such engagements, the National Ambulance Service continues to demonstrate its capacity, professionalism and readiness to provide reliable emergency medical support at major national and international events, contributing to Ghana’s emergency preparedness and the protection of lives.
