The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. Patrick Inkoom Colbelson, has commenced the second phase of his three-region operational tour with visits to ambulance stations in Wenchi, Banda and Nsawkaw in the Bono Region.
The tour forms part of management's efforts to strengthen emergency medical service delivery through direct engagement with frontline personnel and assessment of operational challenges confronting ambulance stations across the country.
Dr. Cobelson was accompanied by the Deputy Director of Public Relations, Simmons Yussif Kewura; DCAEMT Francis Nkebi; DCAEMT Eric Mills; and the Deputy Regional Administrative Manager for Bono Region.
At the various stations visited, the DCEO held interactive sessions with Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), discussing operational issues, staff welfare, emergency response challenges and opportunities for improving service delivery.
He commended the EMTs for their dedication and sacrifices in providing pre-hospital emergency care despite the challenges confronting the Service. Dr. Colbelson assured staff that management remains committed to addressing their concerns and improving operational efficiency to enhance emergency response services.
The EMTs also took the opportunity to share their experiences and concerns, while proposing measures that could help improve ambulance operations and service delivery within their catchment areas.
The regional tour is expected to provide management with first-hand information on the operational needs of ambulance stations and help formulate strategies to strengthen emergency medical services nationwide.
