Engages EMTs and Local Authorities
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. Patrick Inkoom Colbelson, has continued the second phase of his three-region operational tour with visits to several ambulance stations and local government authorities in the Bono Region.
The tour commenced with visits to Wenchi, Banda, and Nsawkaw in the Tain District, where Dr. Inkoom-Colbelson interacted with Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and assessed operational activities at the various ambulance stations.
On the second leg of the tour, the DCEO visited Dormaahenekrom in the Dormaa Central Municipality and Wamfie in the Dormaa West District. As part of the visit, he paid courtesy calls on the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Dormaa Central and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Dormaa West. Discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between the National Ambulance Service and the local assemblies to improve emergency medical services within their respective jurisdictions.
Dr. Inkoom-Colbelson also held open and interactive engagements with EMTs from ambulance stations within the Dormaa enclave, providing a platform for staff to discuss operational challenges, share experiences, and propose solutions aimed at enhancing service delivery.
From the Dormaa area, the DCEO proceeded to the Berekum Ambulance Station before concluding the second day of the tour at the Nsoatre Ambulance Station. At both stations, he met with EMTs and held fruitful discussions on issues affecting emergency response operations and staff welfare.
The ongoing regional tour forms part of
management's efforts to strengthen frontline emergency medical services, engage personnel, and identify practical measures to improve ambulance operations across the country.
The DCEO was accompanied by the Deputy Director Public Relations, Head of Fleet DCAEMT Francis Nkebi, the Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Alfred Amoah and his Deputy, DCAEMT, Eric Mills.
