EMTs Receive Training on Advanced Life-Saving Equipment for Proposed Pilot Project
Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) of the National Ambulance Service in the Greater Accra Region have successfully undergone a specialized training session on the use of advanced life-saving equipment as part of preparations toward a proposed pilot project aimed at strengthening pre-hospital emergency care.
The training, held at the Parliament Ambulance Station, focused on the practical use of three critical emergency response devices: the Amoul E6 Automated CPR machine, the Amoul i6 4-in-1 Defibrillator, and the Amoul i7 Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
EMTs from the Parliament, Ridge Hospital, and Stadium Ambulance Stations participated in the hands-on session, where they received practical demonstrations and guidance on the operation of the equipment expected to support enhanced emergency response operations.
Participants were trained on how the Amoul E6 Automated CPR device delivers consistent and uninterrupted chest compressions during cardiac arrest, significantly improving survival chances. They also explored the capabilities of the Amoul i6 4-in-1 Defibrillator, a multifunctional device designed for defibrillation, patient monitoring, and other critical pre-hospital emergency functions.
Additionally, the Amoul i7 AED was introduced as a user-friendly automated external defibrillator that assists first responders in delivering timely life-saving shocks to patients experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
The training forms part of a proposal for a pilot project seeking to equip selected ambulance stations with a comprehensive package of modern emergency medical equipment and support services through Nivaansh MediQas Ghana Limited.
The Greater Accra Administration of the Service expressed appreciation to all leaders and coordinators whose support ensured the success of the training. Special recognition was given to the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. George Kojo Owusu, the Deputy Director of Training, Mrs. Fati Masud Salifu, and the Greater Accra Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Daniel Asare, for their immense support and coordination.
The Service looks forward to the successful implementation of the pilot project, which is expected to enhance operational efficiency and further strengthen emergency medical care delivery across the Greater Accra Region.
