The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. George Kojo Owusu, has undertaken a working visit to the Naval Recruit Training School, Ezinlibo, in the Western Region. The visit was held on Sunday, 31st August 2025, as part of the nationwide roll-out of the NAS–Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Community Medical First Responders (CMFR) Programme.
The Naval Recruit Training School is among five designated centres hosting the first cohort of 6,000 recruits enrolled under the programme. The training centres include:
• Paramedic and Emergency Care Training School, Nkenkaasu
• Asutsuare Military Training School
• Naval Recruit Training School, Ezinlibo
• Immigration Recruit Training School, Assin Fosu
• Immigration Recruit Training School, Tepa
During the visit, Dr. Owusu inspected the training facilities, observed arrangements made for the trainees, and engaged with both instructors and staff of the centre. His interaction emphasized the Service’s commitment to ensuring that all recruits receive the necessary support for a successful training experience.
The trainees are expected to undergo an intensive four-week programme, focusing on core emergency response skills and basic lifesaving techniques. Dr. Owusu’s visit forms part of his ongoing monitoring of the CMFR programme to guarantee its smooth implementation nationwide.
