As part of its commitment to promoting emergency preparedness and life-saving education, the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Ashanti Region, on June 9, 2026, conducted a practical emergency care training session for final-year Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) students at the Department of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
The training, led by the Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT Sommik Duut Miilon, focused on two essential emergency care skills: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Bleeding Control.
Participants were taken through both theoretical and practical sessions, where they gained hands-on experience in performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and applying effective bleeding control techniques during emergencies.
The initiative forms part of NAS Ashanti Region’s ongoing public education and outreach efforts aimed at equipping future healthcare professionals with critical life-saving skills while strengthening collaboration with academic institutions.
Together, we are building a safer and more prepared society- one lifesaver at a time.
