As part of his operational tour of the Northern Region, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, attended the ongoing Equipment Training and Capacity Building Workshop currently underway at Radach Hotel in Tamale.
The intensive two-day clinical training brought together personnel of the National Ambulance Service from the five northern regions — Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East and Upper West — to strengthen emergency cardiac care, pre-hospital intervention skills, and overall emergency response readiness.
Led by Dr. Papa Kojo Mbroh, the practical workshop focused on the effective use of advanced life support equipment, electrical therapies critical to cardiac emergency response, and Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques aimed at improving patient survival outcomes.
Addressing participants during the session, Dr. Owusu urged personnel to take the training seriously and fully apply the knowledge and practical skills being imparted. He emphasized that the initiative reflects Management’s unwavering commitment to continuous professional development and the delivery of world-class emergency medical care across Ghana.
Training modules covered include:
• Day One – Airway Management, Cardiac Care, IV Therapy, and Vital Signs Monitoring
• Day Two – Trauma Management, Patient Movement, and Emergency Readiness
The training session is equipping personnel with enhanced technical expertise, improved field confidence, and strengthened capacity to respond effectively to cardiac and trauma-related emergencies.
