NAS CEO Concludes One Day Working Visit to Upper East Region

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, has concluded a one-day official working visit to the Upper East Region aimed at assessing the state of pre-hospital Emergency Medical Services and the operational readiness of the regional ambulance fleet.
The visit commenced with a formal parade and inspection ceremony, where the CEO interacted with over 30 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and 25 Community Medical First Responders (CMFRs). Dr. Owusu commended personnel for their professionalism, resilience, and dedication to duty despite the unique operational challenges confronting emergency healthcare delivery within the region.
Addressing personnel during the engagement, the CEO also spoke on the recent unfortunate death of a patient, Mr. Amissah, clarifying that the responding EMTs played their role, acted professionally and worked tirelessly to sustain the patient for nearly two hours. He encouraged personnel to remain focused on their lifesaving mandate and avoid distractions from external commentary and public debate.
The Upper East Regional Administrative Manager, DCAEMT R.A. Azudaa, reaffirmed the region’s unwavering support for the leadership and vision of Dr. George Kojo Owusu. According to him, the CEO’s visit served as a major morale booster for staff across the region and further strengthened the relationship between Management and operational personnel.
He further noted that the disciplined parade mounted in honour of the CEO symbolized the unity, professionalism, and collective commitment of Upper East Region personnel towards advancing emergency medical service delivery.
As a token of appreciation and professional solidarity, the Regional Management presented gifts to the CEO and his entourage during the visit.
