NAS CEO Engages Kwadaso Municipal Assembly, Appeals for Support to Revive Ambulance Fleet

On 25th June, 2026, as part of his ongoing stakeholder engagement and operational monitoring activities, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service (NAS), Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, paid a working visit to the Kwadaso Municipal Assembly to strengthen collaboration and discuss support for emergency medical service delivery within the municipality.
The NAS delegation met with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Eric Asibey, together with the District Finance Officer and the Assembly Secretary. Discussions focused on strengthening emergency medical services and addressing operational challenges facing the Service.
During the engagement, Dr. Owusu highlighted the high cost of maintaining ambulance vehicles and appealed to the Assembly and other stakeholders, including Members of Parliament, to support efforts to restore ambulances currently out of service. He emphasized that every operational ambulance significantly improves emergency response and saves lives within the constituency.
The CEO also encouraged ambulance stations to regularly submit operational reports to their respective assemblies to enhance collaboration and facilitate support at the district level.
The delegation included Board Member Major (Rtd) Christine N.A. Oko, Director of Finance, Mr. Victor Cofie, Deputy Director of Administration, Miss Elizabeth D. Tetteh, Ashanti Regional Administrator, DCAEMT Sommik Duut Miilon, and the Officer-in-Charge of the Kwadaso Ambulance Station, PAEMT Seth Jechie Kelly, and others.
The visit forms part of Management's efforts to strengthen partnerships with local authorities and stakeholders to improve emergency medical service delivery across the country.
