As part of his one-day working visit to the Upper East Region, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, inspected the Emergency Dispatch Center (EDC) and the Tongo Ambulance Station to assess ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening emergency healthcare delivery in the region.
The CEO toured the Emergency Dispatch Center, which was renovated through the support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS). The facility continues to play a critical role in improving pre-hospital emergency coordination and enhancing emergency service delivery across the Upper East Region.
Dr. Owusu also inspected the ongoing renovation works at the Tongo Ambulance Station, a project similarly funded by Catholic Relief Services as part of efforts to improve ambulance infrastructure and operational efficiency within underserved communities.
During the visit, the CEO highlighted the importance of the longstanding partnership between the National Ambulance Service and Catholic Relief Services, emphasizing that such collaborations remain essential to strengthening emergency response systems and improving healthcare outcomes across the country.
He further commended CRS for its continued support towards infrastructure development, operational improvement, and the advancement of pre-hospital emergency medical care in Ghana.
