NAS CEO Pays Courtesy Call on Paramount Chief of Bongo

As part of his one-day operational visit to the Upper East Region, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. (Med) George Kojo Owusu, paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of Bongo, Naba Alemyarum Salifu Baba, to strengthen ties with traditional leadership and discuss the advancement of emergency medical services within the district.
During the engagement, the Paramount Chief commended the National Ambulance Service for its lifesaving impact and contribution towards improving emergency healthcare delivery in the area. He acknowledged the dedication of ambulance personnel and the positive role the Service continues to play in supporting communities across the district.
Naba Alemyarum Salifu Baba further appealed for the establishment of additional ambulance stations within the district and encouraged increased recruitment opportunities for young people from the local community to support emergency response efforts.
In response, Dr. Owusu assured the Chief of Management’s commitment to expanding emergency medical service coverage and strengthening operational capacity within the district. He further indicated that current Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Community Medical First Responders (CMFRs) would be considered during future recruitment opportunities as part of efforts to build local capacity and enhance community-based emergency response systems.
The visit reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between the National Ambulance Service and traditional authorities in promoting accessible and effective emergency healthcare delivery across Ghana.
