NAS Strengthens National Development Agenda at Tree Crops Summit 2026
The National Ambulance Service (NAS) participated and provided full emergency medical coverage at the 1st Ghana Tree Crops Investment Summit & Exhibition (GTCIS) 2026, held at the Accra International Conference Centre from 17–20 February 2026.
Organised by the Tree Crops Development Authority under the theme “Sustainable Growth Through Tree Crops Investment: Resetting and Building Ghana’s Green Economy,” the summit gathered government officials, investors, development partners, agribusiness leaders, traditional authorities and international stakeholders to explore opportunities across six priority value chains- cashew, shea, mango, coconut, rubber and oil palm.
President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, delivered the keynote address, highlighting agriculture-led industrialisation, value addition, sustainable farming and private-sector partnerships as key to strengthening Ghana’s global competitiveness. The event also hosted representatives of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other diplomatic dignitaries.
NAS delegation was led by CEO Dr. George Kojo Owusu alongside management staff, the Greater Accra Regional Administrative Manager, Station Managers and Emergency Medical Technicians. The Service not only provided standby medical cover but also engaged stakeholders on the importance of resilient emergency medical systems for large-scale national events.
Throughout the four-day summit, NAS deployed ambulances, advanced life-support equipment and trained personnel to ensure rapid response and safety for delegates, exhibitors and visitors- demonstrating operational readiness beyond routine emergency response and supporting national development programmes.
CEO of the Authority, Dr. Andy Osei Okrah, expressed appreciation for NAS’s participation and medical support during the maiden summit.
NAS’s involvement reaffirmed its professionalism and commitment to safeguarding lives while supporting economic growth initiatives tied to Ghana’s green economy vision.
